PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFEK is a conformal-coated PLC-5 analog input module. It mounts into a single slot of an Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O chassis. The unit converts field analog signals into proportional digital values for the PLC processor. A polymeric conformal coating protects internal electronic components against humidity and airborne contaminants. The module transfers input data words and receives configuration words through block transfer programming. Operating power is drawn directly from the backplane without an external power supply.
The module provides selectable input capacity for 8 differential channels or 16 single-ended channels. Data values convert to natural binary or 4-digit BCD formats with scaling to engineering units. Selectable voltage spans include 0 to 5 VDC, 1 to 5 VDC, and bipolar ranges. Selectable current inputs include 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, and bipolar ranges. Channel update speed reaches 18 milliseconds for 8 channels or 36 milliseconds for 16 channels. Field terminations wire directly to a separate 1771-WG field wiring arm.
