PRODUCT INFORMATION

Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley MVI56E-MCM is a ControlLogix Modbus master/slave enhanced network interface module. It enables master and slave communication between a ControlLogix processor and Modbus RTU or ASCII devices. The module maps Modbus data directly as I/O data across the ControlLogix backplane. It contains a 10,000-word user-definable database memory mapping. Backward compatibility allows direct replacement of older MVI56 modules without modifying existing controller programs.

The module installs in a single slot of either a local or remote ControlLogix chassis. It draws 800 mA at 5 Volts DC and 3 mA at 24 Volts DC. A 10/100 MB Ethernet port provides network configuration and diagnostics with Auto Cable crossover detection. A four-character scrolling alphanumeric LCD displays diagnostic data and operating status in English. Conformal coating provides protection in harsh or caustic operating environments.
