PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley MVI69-GSC is a CompactLogix Generic Serial ASCII Network Interface Module for 1769 backplane assemblies. This single-slot module integrates two fully configurable ASCII serial communication ports alongside a dedicated configuration port. It enables the host controller to exchange ASCII character strings without occupying the primary processor front serial port. The unit connects directly to the backplane and appears to the processor as an input and output device. String handling supports transmissions of up to 4096 ASCII characters per transaction.
The module accesses controller memory directly to execute data transfers through host ladder logic programming routines. Each application serial port offers 500 Volts optical isolation from the 1769 backplane. Power consumption reaches a maximum current draw of 800 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC. Front indicators show status for the module, battery, application channels, and configuration port activity. Operating temperatures range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius with 5 to 95 percent non-condensing humidity.
