PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product Overview
The Bently Nevada 3500/20 is a Rack Interface Module designed for the Bently Nevada 3500 series machinery protection system. This module serves as the primary communication and configuration interface for the monitoring rack. It installs directly into slot 1 of the rack adjacent to the power supplies. The unit supports communication with external processors, including Transient Data Interface External and Dynamic Data Interface External systems. Although it provides system-wide services, it does not sit directly in the critical machinery trip path.
Engineers configure the rack and retrieve diagnostic records through front and rear communication channels on the module. The unit stores access passwords in onboard non-volatile memory to safeguard rack configuration files and monitor alarm setpoints. Front panel status light indicators confirm hardware health, configuration integrity, transmission status, and trip multiply activation. A keylock switch interface ensures that setpoint alterations remain locked during normal machine operations.

PRODUCT FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which chassis slot does the 3500/20 module occupy?
The 3500/20 Rack Interface Module must always be installed in slot 1 of the 3500 rack chassis.
Does a failure of the 3500/20 interrupt machinery trip protection?
No. The module is not part of the critical monitoring path and does not stop rack monitoring functions.
What is the typical market reference price for the 3500/20 module?
Observed market reference pricing ranges between $668.11 and $3,194.76. These figures are indicative market reference pricing only and are not a final quotation.
What protocols and ports does the 3500/20 interface support?
It provides RS-232 and RS-422 communications at data rates up to 38.4 kbaud using proprietary protocols.
