PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-NT1 is an eight-channel analog input module for the PLC-5 system architecture. It provides high-resolution measurement for thermocouple sensors and millivolt input signals. The module accepts thermocouple types B, E, J, K, T, R, and S. It also supports direct voltage signals across an input span of plus or minus 105 millivolts. A 16-bit analog-to-digital converter delivers fine conversion resolution across every active input channel. Internal logic communicates with the controller using Block Transfer Read and Block Transfer Write instructions.
Each channel features 1000V isolation to protect sensitive instrumentation from electrical ground loops. The unit draws operating current from the 1771 chassis backplane without requiring an external power supply. Onboard cold junction compensation operates across 0 to 70 degrees Celsius to maintain measurement accuracy. The module provides open-circuit detection, self-diagnostics, and selectable high and low process alarms. Engineers can format measurement data using binary-coded decimal or natural binary representations. Physical field connections terminate through a 1771-WH wiring arm mounted to the single-slot chassis assembly.
