PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IB is a PLC-5 Digital Input Module. This unit converts direct-current signals from user devices into logic levels for the processor. It directly controls the state of corresponding bits in the PLC data table. The module supports 1/2-slot, 1-slot, and 2-slot addressing within a 1771 chassis. It connects to source-switching devices such as selector switches, pushbuttons, and dry-contact switches.
The 1771-IB features eight DC sink input channels with an operating voltage range of 10 to 27V DC. Opto-electrical isolation protects system logic circuits from electrical transients on connected field lines. Internal input filtering reduces electrical noise from external wiring. Eight red indicators on the front panel display the operational status of individual field inputs. Field connections terminate at a removable 1771-WA or 1771-WN wiring arm. This swing-arm connection permits module replacement without disconnecting individual field wires.
